Dear Readers and friends of the KURVE,
welcome to the issue 2/2020 of the KURVE.
The Issue 2/2020 is in the tradition of all its
forerunners. You will find here many extraordinary pictures, interesting pieces of literature and some anouncements of very interesting events. I wish you a good reading. and a good
year 2020 with many good moments with the KURVE.

KURVE 1/2020 only presents the long edition with several sections. As usual the translation is situated nearby the original version. You find orignal articles in German language on the left side, nonitalic, the translation into English on the right side, italic. If an original text is in English language, you find the original on the right side, nonitalic and the translation into German on the left italic.
This time the edition includes the sections art, literature, event and miscellaneous. Again I want to thank all the artists, who prepare their articles in such a conscientious and beautiful way. This is it what is known as the flair of our journal. The translation of the articles in English language are made by Manfred Loydolt, my partner in life and in art .
You are asked since the KURVE edition 1/2019 to include the translation into English language. Otherwise we ask you for 5 euro extra for the translation by the editor.

herzlich willkommen zur Ausgabe 2/2020 der KURVE. Die Ausgabe 2/2020 setzt die Tradition der KURVE fort, es gibt wieder sehr viele schöne Bilder zu bewundern, auch ein sehr interessante literarische Beiträge, Ankündigungen von schönen Events und Informationen zu neuen Alben - wieder für jeden / jede etwas.
Eine angenehme Lektüre wünsche ich euch allen mit vielen guten Momenten mit der KURVE .

konrad frischeisen - Saving Health and Brain in the Anthropocene, Part I
Introduction: This article summarizes researches, based on insights of Nobel Laureates like v. Suttner, Crutzen, Delbrück, Eccles, Einstein, Eigen, Gell-Mann, Kandel, Arber, Banting, Binnig, Ernst, Heisenberg, Huber, Ketterle, Luria, Pauling, Sperry, Wieman & Co.. They are partly presented in ‘New Frontiers in Science’ projects www.ehims.de and preceding or following projects, the author was engaged in. They are or will partly be presented in articles written for American/Canadian journals to be found under Konrad Frischeisen Research Gate.
Sperry’s book ‘Science and Moral Priority’ and results of his split brain research, presented in an overview of Eccles, were used by Noble Laureate Eigen in his article on Mozart in his book ‘Jenseits von Ideologien und Wunschdenken’/Beyond ideologies and whishful thinking. Translated and summarized by the author, Sperry’s research results are sketched that way:

Mozart, St. Hildegard, St. Francis & Co. succeeded to use qualities of both brain hemispheres, creating an universal
message for all earthly children.
Eigen used Sperry’s split brain researches to illustrate, that Mozart’s brain hemispheres were admirably well cooperating. In Eigen’s view genius brains like that of Pascal, Heisenberg and some others seem to be comparable to Mozart’s. Surprising is, that Eigen didn’t mention Ein- stein or Planck in this context, although Einstein and Planck played harmoniously music toge- ther, respected each other and created with Bohr foundations for Heisenberg’s, Pauli’s, Di- rac’s, de Broglie’s, Schrödinger’s and Delbrück’s insights into the quantum character of natu- ral laws. Sperry referred in ‘Science and Moral Priority’ several times to Wordsworth and once to the German

Nobel Laureate Delbrück. After the Nazis, world war II and atomic de- sasters in Hiroshima and Nagasaki Delbrück pleaded like Sperry for moral priority in science. In ‘Science and Moral Priority’ Sperry writes, translated from the German edition by the author: ‘ Returning to our main concern, the impact of a creeping materialism in the Neuro- and Behaviour Sciences as well as elsewhere, we can say all in all, that we have today an objective model of explanation of the brain function, that does not deny or degrade huma- nistic values, ideals and the meaning of the human endeavours but rather confirms them. …’
The neurologist, psychiatrist Viktor Frankl integrated above mentioned ideals and values into his logotherapy, helping his patients to find a meaning in life. Frankl was in his early years in Vienna in contact with Freud, founder of the psychoanalysis, and Adler, Vienna’s 2nd school of psychotherapy. Frankl survived concentration camps, developing the logotherapy and exis- tence analysis, called Vienna’s 3rd school of psychotherapy. 2015 the first Viktor Frankl Museum was founded in Vienna, supported by the Brain Researcher and Nobel Laureate Kandel. A closer look on above presented results of Sperry’s split-brain research, helps to understand, why Heinrich Schipperges, neurologist, prof. of medical history, regarded St. Hildegard’s universal healing methods or teachings decisive for the 3rd millennium. Schipperges’ researches permit with Sperry’s the insight, that Hildegard was using all qualities of the left brain hemisphere cooperating with all of the right one, serving the Lord as doctor, teacher and prophet. Man and woman were in her view created in the image of God to be his responsible co-wor- kers, helping and praising God in his creation, regarding God as medical doctor (magnus me- dicus) acting like a medical doctor seeing the suffering and sick, who like to be healed. Saint Hildegard was not only pioneer in natural science, medicine and philosophy but also a compo- ser, author, playwright, prophet and public speaker, corresponding with popes and emperors. Fascinated by David’s psalms and the healing words and actions of Jesus, she was pioneer in environmental medicine, anticipating with her knowledge of the healing power of plants and her universal views of man within the cosmos modern methods of a holistic natural medicine.
According to insights of Prof. Schipperges, who wrote also a biography of Saint Hildegard, she was a pioneer of a medicine, that combines a well founded anthropological thinking with an ethically and ecologically responsible action, giving everybody a task and meaning in life. She anticipated in certain ways Frankl’s logotheraypy, as her therapy was based on the Logos. Ca. 100 year before St. Francis Hildegard praised the sun, the living light and the green force. Jane Goodall encouraged Dr. Eckhart v. Hirschhausen for a similar view in medicine. In accordance with researches of prof. Schipperges medicine in Christian Europe became with St. Hildegard a healing service (diakonia) based on God’s merci (misericordia) and compas- sion with all, who need help (miseriis compatiens) like the Samaritan (imitans Samaritanum). Cooperating with empathy, innate in the nature of children, according to research experiments of prof. Richard Davidson, neurologist, cooperating with Prof. Andreas de Bruin, who develo- ped the Münchner Modell, helps to understand the genius of Hildegard or Mozart as children.
In Wikepedia the following information was found about Saint Hildegard “One of her better known works Ordo
Virtutum (the order of virtues) is a morality play.” It recalls ‘Science and Moral Priority’ into mind,
Roger Sperry, Nobel Laureate of Medicine, had written. Like the Nobel Laureates v. Suttner, Pauling, Delbrück, Luria & Co., Sperry regarded moral priority in science as necessary and his
split brain research proved that it corresponds to cosmic laws. The exposition Kosmos im Kopf (comos in the head) 2000 in the Deutsches Hygiene
Museum called with reference to Leibniz and Nobel Laureate Eccles into mind, that cosmos means also order and beauty within the heavenly fullness of the creation, divine in St. Hildegard’s view.
Prof. Schipperges regarded Saint Hildegard as female prophet in the holy tradition of Debora. Debora meaning bee (Hebrew), its hieroglyph in ancient Egypt was valued like the royal one. Children pictures in the ‘Magic Flute I &II as healing approach’ biomedgrid, American Journal for Biomedical Science and Research’ inspired the author like Debora, actress in USA. The picture right was painted by a child of Munich presenting a bee in an ecolo- gical version of Mozart’s Magic Flute, in which children motivate Papageno to let the birds free and become bee- keeper. Some years later citizens of Munich voted for the survival of bees. (See also the film ‘More than Honey’.)

Adisa Czeczelich -„Die Seele ist ein weites Land“ (Arthur Schnitzler)

Der wohl berühmteste Satz aus Arthur Schnitzlers 1911 zur Uraufführung gelangten Bühnenstückes „Das weite Land“ wird einem bei Betrachtung der Arbeiten von Adisa Czeczelich bewusst und wie sehr er ihre Herangehensweise, Bildsprache, Stilmittel und Themenwahl widerspiegelt. Kraftvollen malerischen, oft in mehreren, übereinander gelagerten Farbschichten und mancherorts noch in kleinen Flächen durchscheinend, setzt sie die zarten, graphischen Linien als Kontrapunkt und lenkt den Fokus des Betrachters auf diese sensiblen Momente. Obwohl die Abstraktion als Wechselspiel zwischen der Farbe und dem empfindlichen Geflecht der graphischen Elemente erscheint, schafft die Künstlerin doch das Zarte auf den ersten Blick überwiegen zu lassen und die Dominanz der Farbe auf ihre Bedeutung als einen die Stimmung transportierenden Faktor zurückzudrängen und einzusetzen.
Ihre malerischen und graphischen Arbeiten erzählen nicht nur mit ihrem Ausdruck, sondern auch gelegentlich mit ihrem Bildtitel – wie etwa „zwischen Licht und Schatten – Menschsein“ - von ihrer Auseinandersetzung mit dem Menschen als Individuum, aber auch mit sozialkritischen Ansätzen. Die Themen sind der Künstlerin auf keinen Fall fremd, arbeitet sie doch auch als Kunsttherapeutin und wird in ihrer therapeutischen Arbeit mit traumatisierten Biografien und Herausforderungen des Lebens der Menschen konfrontiert. Die Kanalisation in der Kunst sowie die Freiheit der Kunst zu begreifen, sieht sie daher von beiden Seiten und kann mit ihrem professionellen Zugang, auch den eigenen Ausdruck lenken. Adisa Czeczelich schreibt selbst in einem Statement, dass sie mit ihren künstlerischen Arbeiten „Geschichten von Sehnsucht, Schwermut, Verletzung und Verletzlichkeit, von Lust und Weh, von Liebe und Schmerz, von Zerrissenheit, Spaltung und Abspaltung“ erzählen möchte.
Seit einiger Zeit nimmt die Künstlerin eine weitere Position in ihrem Kunstverständnis ein und kuratiert
Ausstellungen zu verschiedenen Themen. Ihre Auseinandersetzung mit den Menschen, die hinter den Kunstwerken stehen und die Kommunikation in Form ihrer Arbeiten, fügt sich als weiterer Baustein in
ihrem Verständnis für Kunst ein und lässt sie auch hier die Perspektiven immer wieder wechseln.

You will become aware of the most famous sentence from Arthur Schnitzler’s Drama which had its first performance in 1911 when you view the work of Adisa Czeczelich. We find it in his approach, picture language, stylistic devise und the choice of theme. The powerful painting, mostly with overlap of coating and small transparent parts or fine lines as counterpoint brings the viewer to this sensible moments. Although the abstraction seems as interplay between colour and the sensitive meshwork of graphic elements succeeds the artist that the fine lines become forground at the first moment you watch. The dominance of colour as importance is so installed that the as mood for transported fact is pushed into the background.
Her paintings and graphic works tell not only because of their expression - but because of the titles of their works - about the contest between human as person and the social aspects. The artist knows this kind of themes very good because she is working as arttherapist. In that work she is confronted with traumatic biographies and the challenges of human life. So she can see the canalisation of art and the understanding of the freedom of art in booth works and she can find the own expression. Adisa Czeczlich writes in a statement that she wants to tell about ‚stories of longing, melancholia, injury and injuryness, of lust and balefulness, love and pain, about inner conflicts, split and seperation.’
Since some times the artist curates exhibitions about several themes. Her hassle with the other painters and the comunication of the form of their works built a new brick in her understanding of art and bring her to change sometimes the perspectives.

''CAPTURING THE ESSENCE OF SPRINGTIME'' by Textile Artist Christine Cunningham
'Spring Garden' and 'Springtime' are examples of abstract textiles created from recycled materials capturing the essence of
the season with a bold colour palette of new shoots (rich greens) and Spring Flowers (white snowdrops, yellow daffodils and hyacinths in hues of pink, purple and blue).
Traditional techniques of patchwork and applique are richly embellished in light reflective beads, buttons, jewels and sequins, capturing beautifully the delicate light of the season, with
shadows casting depth within the flat textile surface.
Using fabric off-cuts is a fabulous way to build a rich colour palette, leaving edges roughly cut and frayed to promote natural texture. Layering individual lengths creates a depth within the
surface, a natural rhythm created within the simple stitching. Additional lengths of Indian cotton, curtains and blankets add an overlay of structure.
Both textiles have woollen pompoms fringing, a technique I learned as a child. The more hairy the wool the greater the textural depth, creating a real 3D structure which has a mobility and
fluidity within the natural movement, anchored at the back.
Original poetry, ''Easter Sandals'', applied as hand embroidery in a gold crochet thread, provides an emotional layering to which the viewer can relate, capturing the essence of my childhood at
Easter in The North East of England. Join me in the hunt for brightly patterned eggs, set against a backdrop of church bands parading throughout South Shields, with trumpets high and jazz bands
loud, so it was in my day.

'Frühlingsgarten' und 'Frühling' sind Beispiele von abrakten Textilien, die aus recyclten Materialen geschaffen wurden und in denen die Essenz der Jahreszeit mit einer kühnen Farbpalette von jungen Knospen (verschiedenste Grüntöne) und Frühlingsblumen (weißes Schneeglöckchen, gelbe Narzissen und Hyazinthen in den Farbtönen Pink, Purpur und Blau) eingefangen werden soll.
Traditionelle Patchworktechniken werden mit glänzenden Pernlen, Knöpfen, Schmuck und Pailetten aufpoliert und zeigen dadurch das feine Licht der Jahreszeit, das durch Schatten eine 3D Effekt in den flachen Quilt bringen soll.
Indem man Schnipsel aus Stoff verwendet, kann man eine sehr differenzierte Farbpalette aufbauen, so können sehr grob geschnittene und fransige Ecken den Eindruck von ursprünglichem Stoff entstehen lassen. Durch das Aufeinderlegen verschieden langer Stoffstücke entsteht ein 3D Effekt auf der Oberfläche, was einen natürlichen Rytmus in die einfache Näherei bringt. Zusätzliche Längen von indischer Baumwolle, Vorhängen und Decken fügen eine strukturelle Überlagerung hinzu.
In beide Patchworks sind wollene Pompoms, eine Technik, die ich als Kind gelernt habe, eingearbeitet. Je haariger die Wolle ist, umso größer ist die textile Tiefe, die eine wirkliche 3D Struktur entstehn lässt, die eine Wendigkeit und Flüssigkeit innerhalb des natürlichen Bewegungsablaufs, der hinten verankert ist, aufweist.
Origainale Dichtung "Oster Sandalen" wurde von Hand mit einem Goldfaden aufgestickt, dadurch kann der Betrachter die Essenz meiner Kindheit zu den Osterfeiertagen im Nodosten von England nachspüren. Folge mir auf der Suche nach bung bemalten Eiern vor dem Hintergund von Kirchenbändern, die druch die South Shields wehen, begleitet von den hohen Tönen der Trompeten und den lauten der Jazz Bands, so war es in meiner Kindheit.

Monika Dorninger „Venezia – meine ewige Stadt“

Wer einmal nachts - fernab der Touristenpfade - durch die engen Gassen und über die alten Brücken der unzähligen Kanäle gestreift ist, bei diffusen Beleuchtungen die alten Häuser mit ihren abbröckelnden Fassaden und der Jahrhunderte alten Geschichte, die sie in ihren Mauern tragen, gesehen hat, wird Venedig lieben. Einen Espresso oder ein Glas Prosecco in einem der Cafes und Bars trinkend, durchströmt einen das Gefühl des Dolce Vita und einer Lässigkeit, die - verbunden mit der Schönheit der Stadt - nur in einer immerwährenden Liebe münden kann.
Monika Dorninger hat sich schon in ihrer Jugend in Venedig verliebt und Venedig hat sie seither nicht mehr losgelassen. Sie selbst bezeichnet diese Stadt als „meine ewige Stadt“ und kehrt fast jährlich zurück, um einige Tage nicht nur dem Rhythmus der Stadt, sondern auch ihrer Inspiration folgend sich ganz auf Venedig und dessen Menschen mit ihrer künstlerischen Neugier einzulassen. Manchmal umreißt sie zart mit Tusche oder Bleistift ein Motiv und akzentuiert mit Farbe oder einem aufgeklebten Zeitungsausschnitt ihre Eindrücke. Ein anderes Mal lässt sie malerisch ihrer spontanen Emotion freien Lauf, die Farbe wird zum dominierenden Bildsujet und vermittelt einen besonderen Augenblick und die Stimmung, in der sich die Künstlerin dabei befindet. Die Wiedergabe der Architektur und der umgebenden Landschaft wird dann zum schemenhaften Grundgerüst und bildet nur den Gegenstand einer Verortung der vorangegangenen Wahrnehmungen. In Monika Dorningers Arbeiten ist es essentiell, dass sie sich auf Situationen und Begebenheiten völlig einlässt und ihrer Stimmung folgend zu verschiedenen Techniken greift, um den besonderen Moment des Erlebens widerzuspiegeln.
Als Aquarelle, Collagen oder Zeichnungen nimmt sie diese Erinnerungen wieder für ein Jahr mit nach Hause, um dann bei ihrem nächsten Besuch erneut dem Zauber Venedigs zu erliegen und von der Schönheit „ihrer“ Stadt zu erzählen.

Anyone who has ever strolled at night through the narrow streets and over the old bridges crossing
countless canals - far from the tourist paths - or has seen diffusely illuminated old houses with their crumbling facades bearing witness to the centuries-old history within their walls, will
love Venice. Drinking an espresso or a glass of prosecco in one of the cafes and bars one is flooded by the feeling of dolce vita and a nonchalance that - combined with the beauty of the city -
can only result in everlasting love.
Monika Dorninger fell in love with Venice in her youth and Venice has never let go of her since then. She herself describes this city as my "Eternal City" and returns almost every year in order not only to partake in the rhythm of the city for a few days but primarily to follow her inspirations with artistic curiosity in getting involved with Venice and its people again. Sometimes she delicately outlines a motif with ink or pencil, another time she accentuates her impressions with color or glued-on newspaper clippings. Yet, on a different occasion she lets her spontaneous emotions run free, then the color becomes the dominant pictorial subject and transports a special moment and the mood in which she finds herself. The rendering of the architecture and the surrounding landscape will become a vague framework and only serve the purpose of locating previous perceptions. It is an essential feature of Monika Dorninger's work that she fully engages with situations and occurrences and, depending on her mood, then uses various techniques to reflect the special moment of experience.
For another year she will take home memories in the form of watercolors, collages and drawings, only to succumb to the magic of Venice on her next visit and to tell a further story about the
beauty of "her" city.
